The 2015 Santa Cruz Tallboy Carbon with RXC build (in either burgundy/white or satin black/aqua blue). Build kit includes a curated mix of Shimano XT, Deore, and SRAM components. MSRP is $3399.

Santa Cruz has been working with an exclusive manufacturing partner in an effort to get cost down on carbon frames without sacrificing quality or durability. For 2015, they have a new lower cost carbon frame option that retains the same strength with a different grade of carbon material that results in a minimal weight gain of approximately 250-280 grams (0.6 lbs) and a lower price point.

New Santa Cruz Nomad Rental Bikes

2014 Santa Cruz Nomad with XO1 build demo and rental bikes at The Path Bike Shop in Tustin, CANew demo bikes at the Tustin shop!

2014 Santa Cruz Nomad with XO1 build, sizes medium and large. Tani (The Path Bike Shop owner) took it out for a ride last week and said, "This bike is so confident, and it manuals like it wants to."

Our longtime customer (and multiple Santa Cruz bicycle owner) Milton had this to say about the new Nomad:

"The big question being asked was Nomad and pedaling.  The bike actually pedals quite well.  Doesn't pedal like a downhill bike. The only issue is climbing on steep grades, the front end tends to lift, as expected from a slack head tube.  Tani recommended moving forward and weighting the front tire, works like a charm. Also, the 32t single chainring may be too tall for some.  If you climb a lot, I would go 30t or even 28t.  If you are used to XC bars, the nomad bars may be too wide.

As for descents, it's very stable.  It makes my Tallboy feel twitchy.  I'd say 15-20% better than the Tallboy on descents, Tallboy may be 5-10% better on the climb (if you weight the front on steep)."
