In 2001, avid mountain bikers Kevin Menard and Kyle Young quit their day jobs at a telecommunications company and founded Transition Bicycle Company. By 2003, the two riding buddies had laid a solid foundation for the fledgling company, and were selling bikes out of Menard’s basement in Seattle. Today, Transition is still rider owned and operated, and is based in the riding mecca of Bellingham, Washington. Transition continues to innovate with progressive design centered around making versatile and capable bikes, while staying true to its roots: Having fun on and off the bike.
